anything in the Canon SD line is a great camera, low in price…and extremely good. The SD1100 is very good. This is all a matter of taste, but Canon has the reputation for point and shoot cameras, I have two, and both are excellent. They are also very reliable. Very fast to auto focus in almost all lighting conditions (very important) and the megapix rating is just fine…face it, more than 6 megapix is gravy we don’t need! good luck and happy hunting…go to a camera store and see for yourself as to what feels good to you. I prefer Nikon in SLRs, but Canon in point and shoot! I take a lot of pics. Happy Holidays
