Olympus Stylus Tough series cameras perform excellent both on land as well as underwater because of their lightweight and stainless steel and aluminum exteriors that seal out the elements. While the STYLUS TOUGH-8000 can be fully submerged to capture beautiful images down to 33 feet (10 meters) underwater, the STYLUS TOUGH-6000 can be submerged up to 10 feet underwater.
The Tough series' built-in manometer makes these cameras ideal for more serious underwater adventurers. Their LED Illuminator works like a mini-flashlight on the front of the camera to enhance focus particularly for underwater close-ups shots where light is scarce. The LED also fucntions alongwith the bright capture to help illuminate the subject when taking low-light portraits.
With four preset underwater scene modes, these cameras are excellent for taking photos while scuba diving, snorkeling or simply having worry-free fun in the pool.
Additionally, the Tough series cameras can capture movies with more vibrant colors using the underwater movie mode. They also feature a water-repellant lens coating to prevent water droplets from forming on the lens to get crystal-clear shots no matter how wet the shooting environment.
Usually, in bright daylight shooting outdoorscan be a bit difficult, because of the extreme contrast between dark shadowed areas and bright sunlit areas. Applying the Shadow Adjustment Technology, the Stylus Tough series cameras can address this issue straight away. This application enable users to preview and capture images with the same contrast as the naked eye.
All Olympus digital point-and-shoot cameras accept xD-Picture CardTM media. They also accept microSD memory cards to capture images. These cameras offer the flexibility to use either xD-Picture Card or microSD memory cards, which is yet another additional benefit of Olympus point-and-shoot camera.
Another great feature of the Stylus Tough series cameras is that they offer Red-Eye Fix and Shadow Adjustment Edit, in-camera editing features. This includes resizing, and saturation adjustments so that users can edit photos right in the camera. Multiple editing is also possible with the Perfect Fix function.
